If you are interested in a kitten from me, please take the time to read this page carefully before sending an email. If my way of breeding does not align with you, this may not be the right cattery for you.
I will not respond to emails that clearly show no effort has been made to get to know my cattery.
Don’t get me wrong, I love informing people – but I get a lot of messages and I don’t have time to answer them all in depth: that’s why I put the information on the website.
If our way of breeding and matching kittens speaks to you, you are welcome to place a symbolic, non-refundable deposit to secure a spot in one of our future litters. This option is intended for families who understand and support the philosophy behind how I breed and match my kittens. If you’d like more information, feel free to send me a WhatsApp message.

This is just an example 🙂

What is so special about Lunar Fields?
At Lunar Fields, it is not only about healthy lines, pretty colours and sweet cats.
I spend a huge amount of time with my kittens and I am home with them almost all the time. This means I really get to know each one: their confidence, energy, habits, little quirks and what kind of home would suit them best. They are socialised intensively and grow up right in the middle of daily life.
I do not match kittens based on looks alone. Of course you may have preferences, but character always matters more here. That is one of the most important parts of Lunar Fields.
I take the time to get to know you, your family, your wishes and your home. Even your children’s personalities can matter when finding the right match. When you already have one or more cats, I ask for information and videos so I can hopefully match the right kitten — or kitten pair — with your existing group.
This also means that sometimes I have to disappoint people. I am not trying to sell my kittens as quickly as possible. I want to make good matches, because a good match is for life. Colour is a bonus. And honestly… everyone always has a preference until they are standing in the middle of ten kittens and suddenly love them all.
Once your kitten leaves, I do not disappear. You can always contact me with questions, even long after they have moved out. I think that is also one of the things that my kittenparents value a lot. They can ALWAYS send me a WhatsApp message after, yes even 10 years after, and I will message you back. Yes even for ”stupid” questions, or simply because you want to doublecheck things.
You can also read some experiences from my kitten families on the review page. It is still fairly new, but it already gives a good and honest impression. I am forever grateful for all “my” lovely kitten parents. I truly feel blessed that we found each other, and over the years I have met some amazing people because of my cats — and I keep doing so.
Thank you, guys.
Why do you not sell a kitten based on looks alone?
I carefully match my kittens to their new families based on behaviour and personality. Of course, you are welcome to share your colour preferences—but personality will always come first at Lunar Fields.
If there is no good match between you and a kitten, between kittens placed together, or with cats already in your home, it can be harmful for everyone involved. Stress and poor group dynamics can negatively affect a cat’s well-being and may even make them more prone to illness. Everything is connected.
All cats are beautiful, but not every personality fits every family. That is why I prioritise the right match over colour. For this reason, I do not allow kittens to be chosen based on photos alone, and they cannot be reserved before 9 weeks of age. Ofcourse you can tell me which kitten you like, looks-wise, but if the character doesn’t match – we will look for another kitten. (It also is important if you want 2 kittens, not all 2 kittens from a litter will be a good match.)
What does a Ragdoll cost?
Ragdolls look-a-likes are usually between 1400-1900 in Switzerland.
Ragdolls with pedigree usually start at 1700.
Ragdolls with pedigree from DNA tested parents are usually a bit more expensive.
Ragdolls with pedigree from FULLY tested parents are usually a bit more expensive.
Rare colored Ragdolls with pedigree, fully tested parents, well socialized, from a responsible breeder usually start at 1800 and way way up. Our kittens start at 1900 CHF, and the rarer colors are more.
Behind the scenes of a professional cattery, there is a lot more work going on than you can imagine. Read further if you want an idea of some of the work we breeders do.
– Pedigree research
– Daily (sometimes hours!) answering emails and whatsapp
– Making weekly kittenpictures and editing them
– Updating social media and website
– Cleaning, because a spotless hygiene in a cattery is crucial
– Socialising for hours and hours
– Driving for a new tomcat, 4000 kilometers away
– Weekends filled with visits
– The build of a new playpen, enrichment or toy
– Genetic courses and even self-studies
I can go on, and that is just the hours. I’m not talking about the actual cost of quality food, housing cost, toys, cattrees and building an outside enclosure, a new breedingcat and the transport, or a c-section gone wrong resulting in death, thousands loss but mostly: a breeder that wants to quit because she is heartbroken.
I can’t possibly write it all down. It is a fulltime job. The best job in the world, but not all sunshine and rainbows. Therefore negotiating about the price is not an option here.
Why are some lines/colors more expensive?
In short: they are harder to breed or were more expensive for a cattery to begin with. Some lines are very expensive, or we have to import cats from far away. Some colors are inherited recessively, which means both parents must carry the gene for it to become visible in kittens. In other words, a breeder needs to have two cats that carry this gene, or find a suitable stud male that has this color (or carries the gene for it). And fully tested, suitable Ragdoll stud males are simply not found on every corner, let alone the ones with a rare gene. Chocolate and especially cinnamon are much less common than seal and blue, and breeding cats are also more expensive. Let alone fully tested, unrelated lines. For example my 2026 search for a Bloodtype A Chocolate Lynx Solid Boy from unrelated lines that is from tested parents AND has a nice personality + arriving here with a courier. Breeders have a harder time accessing these lines and often need to search longer or even look abroad to incorporate these colors into their breeding program. Dilutions make things even more complex. For colors such as lilac and fawn, both parents must also have/carry the dilution gene.
What will my kitten learn at Lunar Fields?
I take my breeding very seriously, but my cats are first and foremost part of my family. They live with me in my home, sleep on my sofa, and are fully involved in daily life. My kittens are raised the same way.
In their first weeks, kittens stay in my nursery room to ensure a safe and calm start. After that, they join the adult group and grow up in the middle of my home environment.
Socialisation is a major focus for me. Having experienced unsocialised pets in the past, I invest a lot of time into raising confident, well-balanced kittens—more similar to puppy socialisation than typical kitten raising. I expose them to everyday and unusual situations: vacuum cleaners (including robot vacuums), loud noises, fireworks sounds, moving objects, and different textures such as stone, grass, aluminium, cardboard, and more. My home may look chaotic during this time, but it benefits the kittens for life.
That said, every kitten is different. While I do everything I can to build confidence, not every kitten will be completely “bomb-proof” at 12 weeks.
We are reserving a kitten! What now?
A symbolic deposit can be paid over Twint and I will update you as soon as I have news, a Queen is pregnant or the litter is born and they are all healthy.
I ask my kitten parents to add me on WhatsApp if possible. There, I send weekly photos and videos so you can follow exactly how your kitten is growing and what adventures we are up to! I prefer a personal and friendly approach with my future kitten parents. 😉
You will get a video report and weekly updates, where I also already tell you a bit about which kitten I have in mind for you and why. But before that happens at around 8 weeks, you will already have told me your favourites from the litter. A visit can follow after the first vaccination, and after that you can fully reserve your kitten. Picking up your kitten follows after their second vaccination AND once I feel they are ready to move to their new home. This is usually between 12 and 14 weeks. Kittens moving abroad stay with me until at least 15 weeks and receive a rabies vaccination.
I select your kitten based on what you tell me about your family, your home, your experience with cats, and what you are looking for in a companion. If you already have cats, I also take their personalities into account. And of course, if you would like two kittens, I pay close attention to which kittens naturally bond with each other and have matching personalities.
Now, if there is a seal point kitten in the litter and you really, really do not like seal points, then of course I will not suggest that kitten to you. But if I have a litter of six kittens and you are open to all colours in that litter, then I will try to match based on personality rather than on which kitten is the prettiest. However if you come to me with ”I want a chocolate female. Here’s 50 bucks.”, I will kindly return your money – that’s not how I run my cattery.
Kittens can change a lot during their first two years. Sometimes the “ugliest” kitten (there are none!) grows into the floofiest, most beautiful cat of them all. But honestly, once you are here and meet them in person, all those photos and videos suddenly do not matter that much anymore—you will fall in love anyway. All kittenparents tell me so far. Yes on google they had a preference for a color and once they are here they may like something completely different.
If you already have a cat (or cats) and really want a specific colour, that might be possible, especially if you already own one of my kittens and we know exactly who you are. Even then, however, I select based on compatibility, and if I genuinely feel a kitten would not be a good match, there will be no reservation… that will make no one happy.
